FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Our experts answer all of your questions.

Which method is most suitable for thin hair?

There is no single method that is best for every guest with thin hair. We first assess density, condition, shedding pattern and how well the natural hair can conceal attachments. Depending on the result and the condition of the hair, we may recommend smaller Keratin or ICE attachments, Bio Tape or another lightweight option with carefully controlled weight.

How is the hair extension method chosen?

The method is selected after assessing the condition, density, texture, colour and movement of your natural hair, together with your lifestyle, maintenance routine and desired result. The safest and most natural-looking option may be different from the method you originally expected.

Which hair extension methods does ZORUMI offer?

ZORUMI works with Italian hot Keratin extensions, the Spanish ICE cold method, Bio Tape extensions and Hollywood Weft extensions. The final recommendation depends on your natural hair and the result you want to achieve.

What is the difference between Keratin, ICE, Bio Tape and Hollywood Weft extensions?

Keratin extensions use small hot-fused bonds and allow precise placement. ICE is a cold application method that does not use heat during attachment. Bio Tape uses flat lightweight sections and offers a faster installation. Hollywood Weft is installed in rows and is often chosen for volume and density.

Is there a minimum length or density of natural hair required for extensions?

There is no universal minimum length measured in centimetres. Your natural hair must be long and dense enough to conceal the attachments and support the selected weight. This is confirmed during the consultation.

How much extension hair will I need?

The required amount depends on your natural density, current length, desired length, target volume, chosen method and the structure of the extension hair. Some guests need only partial volume, while a full transformation may require a considerably larger amount. The exact weight is confirmed after assessment.

How long does a full hair extension installation take?

A full installation usually takes several hours. The exact duration depends on the method, the amount of hair, whether removal or correction is required, and whether colouring, cutting or styling are included.

Can my transformation be completed in one visit?

Many Keratin and ICE transformations can be completed in one visit because ZORUMI keeps a broad selection of natural donor hair in the salon. Bio Tape and Hollywood Weft services may require preparation before the appointment, so the timing is confirmed during consultation.

Will people be able to tell that I am wearing hair extensions?

The aim is for the result to look natural and for the attachments to remain discreet. Visibility depends on natural hair density, correct placement, the chosen hairstyle, timely correction and proper home care.

Can hair extensions damage my natural hair?

Any extension method can stress the natural hair if the wrong weight is selected, the application is poor, correction is delayed or removal is performed incorrectly. ZORUMI reduces these risks through detailed assessment, controlled weight distribution, professional installation, timely correction and professional removal.

How long can hair extensions be worn before a correction?

Average correction timing is 2–2.5 months for keratin capsules and ICE, 2 months for metal rings and Tape/Bio-Tape, and 1–1.5 months for Hollywood wefts or tresses. Smaller capsules may need correction sooner. These are average recommendations, not fixed or guaranteed periods; actual timing depends on the method, attachment size and individual hair growth.

What can happen if I delay my correction?

Delaying correction can lead to tangling near the roots, visible attachments, uneven tension and unnecessary stress on the natural hair. If you notice matting, discomfort or excessive movement of the attachments, contact the salon rather than waiting for the planned date.

How long does a correction appointment take?

A correction often takes longer than the original installation because it may include removal, washing, preparation or rebonding of the extension hair, and reinstallation. The exact appointment time depends on the method and the amount of hair.

What does hair extension aftercare involve?

Aftercare includes using the correct brush, separating the attachments regularly, drying the roots and attachment area thoroughly, avoiding sleep with wet hair, using suitable products and attending correction appointments on time. Your specialist will explain the routine for your method.

Can I wash, blow-dry and heat-style my hair extensions?

Yes. You can wash, blow-dry and heat-style your extensions, but high heat should not be applied directly to bonds or tapes. Use heat protection, support the hair while brushing and make sure the attachment area is completely dry.

Can I swim, exercise and sleep normally with hair extensions?

Yes, with appropriate care. Tie the hair in a loose braid or low ponytail for sleep and exercise, rinse it after swimming in the sea or a pool, and dry the roots and attachments fully. Do not leave the hair wet for long periods.

Which hair products should I avoid while wearing extensions?

Avoid applying heavy oils, masks, conditioner or silicone-rich products directly to the attachment area. Avoid excessive heat on bonds or tapes and products that have not been recommended for your method. Your specialist can recommend suitable aftercare products. Lengths and ends may require a different routine from the attachment area, and a product should be used near attachments only if your specialist confirms that the product and the application method are compatible.

Can I colour my natural hair while wearing extensions?

Yes, but colouring should be planned with an experienced colourist who understands extensions. Colour products should not be applied carelessly over bonds or tapes, and in many cases it is better to coordinate colour work with installation or correction.

Can the same extension hair be reused?

Often, yes. Bio Tape and Hollywood Weft hair can commonly be refitted, while Keratin and ICE hair may be rebonded if its condition and quality remain suitable. The specialist will inspect the hair before reuse.

How are hair extensions removed, and do I need a break between installations?

Extensions should always be removed professionally. A break between installations is not automatically required if the scalp and natural hair are healthy, but the specialist will assess their condition and recommend a pause when necessary.

How is colour matching handled?

We assess the root colour, mid-lengths, ends, undertone, texture and natural movement of your hair. Several shades or tones may be blended to create a seamless result rather than relying on one flat colour. We consider tone, depth, undertone and dimension rather than one flat shade, and several donor-hair colours can be blended or customised to recreate highlights, lowlights and natural tonal variation.

What is discussed before a booking is confirmed?

Before confirmation, we discuss the condition of your natural hair, your desired result, method, length, amount of hair, colour match, maintenance schedule, appointment duration and estimated price. Additional preparation requirements are also confirmed.

Does ZORUMI provide a guarantee on hair extension services?

ZORUMI’s two-week guarantee covers the attachment (capsules) only, not the hair itself: within two weeks of installation the salon redoes the attachment free of charge. It applies only to hair bought at ZORUMI and is void if the signed care conditions were not followed. There is no guarantee on the hair, and after installation hair cannot be returned or exchanged. Your statutory consumer rights are not affected. Any concern should be reported to the salon promptly so it can be inspected.

How much do hair extensions cost at ZORUMI?

The price depends on the method, length, hair collection, required weight, colour work and any additional services. Current starting prices are available on the dedicated Prices page, and the final quote is confirmed after consultation. Colour and care services are priced separately, by length, density, condition, colour history, product quantity, service scope and the number of stages.

Can ZORUMI ship hair internationally?

Yes. ZORUMI can arrange international delivery for selected hair orders, subject to stock availability, destination, customs requirements, shipping cost and delivery time.

How do I book a consultation or appointment?

You can use the BOOK button on the website or contact ZORUMI through WhatsApp. The consultation is used to assess your hair, select the method and confirm the required hair, timing and price before the appointment.

Where is ZORUMI located?

ZORUMI is located at Entrance 2 or Entrance E, 1st Floor, Salon 107, Matloob Building, Al Safa 1, Dubai, UAE. Entrance 2 and Entrance E are two separate entrances on different sides of the building; you can use either one. We are open daily 11:00–20:00.

How is the right colour or care service selected?

The service is selected after reviewing your natural base, colour history, hair condition, scalp where relevant, desired result, maintenance routine and any existing or planned extensions. The aim is to choose a colour and care plan that works as one system rather than treating each service in isolation.

Can colour and hair care be planned in the same appointment?

Often, yes. The correct sequence depends on your current colour, hair condition, desired tone and the type of care being considered. In some cases colour and care can be coordinated in one visit; in others, separating the services may be more appropriate.

Can colour and extensions be planned together?

Yes. The consultation determines the correct shade, order of services and whether colour should be completed before installation, within the same plan or in stages.

Can my colour result be completed in one visit?

Sometimes. The answer depends on the current base, previous colour, condition, target and required lift. Complex correction or major lightening may require more than one stage.

Can I have professional hair care while wearing extensions?

Some treatments may be suitable while extensions are installed, but products and application areas must be adjusted to the selected attachment method.

The correct plan is confirmed after an individual assessment.

Can donor hair be toned or coloured?

Donor hair can receive selected care through the lengths and ends.

Attachment areas must be protected, and the treatment should not unnecessarily alter the colour or structure of the donor hair.

Any toning or colour adjustment to donor hair should be confirmed individually because not every hair package or previous processing history responds in the same way.

Can professional hair care affect my colour?

Some treatments and smoothing protocols can influence tone, reflect or the way colour appears. We consider your colour history and future colour plan before selecting the treatment so the services can be coordinated appropriately.

Is professional care suitable for coloured or lightened hair?

Professional care can be selected for coloured or lightened hair, but the protocol should reflect the hair's current condition, porosity, processing history and future colour plan. No single treatment is suitable for every lightened or compromised hair type.

How often should I have professional hair care?

There is no universal interval. Frequency depends on hair condition, colour history, styling habits, home care, extension wear and the type of professional treatment. Your specialist should recommend the maintenance rhythm after assessment.

Can smoothing care be performed before extensions?

It may be possible, but timing matters. The smoothing service, natural-hair condition and future attachment method should be reviewed together so the installation area and hair behaviour are appropriate for the extension plan.

What is Removal + Care?

Removal + Care combines professional extension removal with an assessment of the natural hair and scalp, followed by the salon's appropriate cleansing and care steps. The next installation or rest period is then planned according to the hair's condition.

Can I have extensions if my natural hair is damaged or compromised?

Extensions should not be approved automatically when natural hair is compromised. Density, breakage, scalp condition, colour history and the weight and placement of the proposed installation must be assessed first. Another method, lower weight or postponing installation may be more appropriate.

Which products should I use at home?

Home care is selected around your scalp, natural hair, colour, donor hair and attachment method. In general, the routine should include appropriate cleansing, conditioning through suitable areas, careful drying, detangling and heat protection, while avoiding products that can compromise attachment points.

What if my hair cannot safely support the target?

ZORUMI will recommend a safer target, a staged route, preparatory care or postponement rather than forcing a damaging result.
